At the 2018 EDSIG Member's meeting in Norfolk, VA, a motion from the floor regarding EDSIG's future as an independent organization was discussed and passed. The motion reads as follows: "Move to request the board of directors to continue to investigate the option of AITP-EDSIG becoming an independent organization with no parent affiliation. A summary of investigation and any recommendations to be complete on or before September 1, 2019 (60 days before the next members meeting)." From January 2019 up until this communication, the EDSIG Board has pursued the charge of this motion. The link provided below is a report to the EDSIG Membership, prepared by the EDSIG Board, with recommendations regarding the matter of AITP-EDSIG becoming an independent organization with no parent affiliation. The recommendations contained in this report will be presented to the EDSIG Membership at the membership meeting in Cleveland, OH on November 8th, 2019 such that the membership will consider these recommendations for subsequent decision and action. I look forward to our scholarly fellowship in at the EDSIGCON/CONISAR Conferences in Cleveland and thank you for making EDSIG a vibrant community.
